CBD (Perth) - DNA Tower

DNA Tower by John Beard | Kings Park
DNA Tower

Inspired by the famous double staircase in Blois, France the DNA staircase, or so it has been named, due to its double helix appearance resembling Deoxyribonucliec acid.

The DNA Tower is a 15 meter high 101 step climb and illuminates at night to give a soft blue glow.

To give this tower a unique life John Beard who commissioned this structure in 1966 sought to build the towers foundations and walls from stones brought from the fat corners of Western Australia, therefore 11 towns and 80 shires helped with the making of this unique structure.
