Everyone has seen Dean Bowens work, whether you recognize his work is another matter.
This sculpture has been making the BIG Thing rounds as the 'BIG Cat' but it's more of a kitsch item for me. It was dubbed the 'BIG Ugly Cat' by locals but it's simple titled 'Cat' and was brought to life in 2012
Artists Statement: "The cat has been an important and ongoing subject in my work for a number of years. As the Community Centre is surrounded by three schools, my aim was to make a sculpture that would engage and speak to one of the main users of the building, the children. My humerous and oversized interpretation of the cat draws inspiration from Ancient Egyptian art ans well as childhood and adult memories of many amusing encounters with these thought provoking creatures"
