The more I read about this mural the more I enjoy and appreciate it.
Khancoban was one of those towns built up to house the workers and families of the Snowy Mountains Hydo Electric Program. Construction began in 1949 which saw the towns population increase to around 2,000 but as the program ended and work dried up it's sadly left the town of Khancoban with a population of around 300 today.

The town raised $6,000 to hire painter/ illustrator Rebecca Page to capture the history of Khancoban and to honor the workforce that built the town. Rebecca designed a mural depicting three workers; a lineman, a tunneller & a laborer with the Khancoban mountains in the back ground.
