'Modern Man' by Tim Kyle

Meet 'Modern Man' by Tim Kyle. Modern man was created in 2011 and compliments another sculpture 'Saltibanque' which lives a little further into Kendall Ln.

The modern man is standing in the middle of a raised garden bed facing the street with 4 possible roads he could travel. Despite his vantage point and the many directions to go he's standing still and bares a grim expression.

I remember reading something by the artist once about the artist sculpting the Modern man to be viewed from different angles so that with every new angle comes a fresh perspective. I found it difficult to achieve as he was considerably higher off the ground than I was but I'll let you be the judge as to whether the artist achieved his goal if what I read was, in fact, correct.

Artist Statement
“a man lost because of his choice of direction, on the verge of going forward but as yet uncertain as to which way”.
