Two Rocks | King Neptune

King Neptune Sculpture at Two Rocks | Atlantis Marine Park

King Neptune was still looking splendid after his 2015 make over. The sculpture which was built in 1982 was the feature for the Atlantis Marine Park which he called home until the park closed it's doors in 1990.

These days King Neptune watches over a desolate Marine park littered with rubbish, broken down sculptures and gets to feature in tourist selfies when we're brave enough to slip through the chain link fences to see him.  To be fair he does make a great selfie.

Neptune is heritage listed and while development proposals have been submitted and construction was present in the area this particular area looked largely untouched when I visited. I hope King Neptune gets the home and love befitting of such a magnificent sculpture.
