2015

Created by Phil and Dawn Gamblen this interesting piece of public art titled ‘Down Lounge’ was installed in 2015 by the city of Vincent.

Water cut from rolled steel, energy efficient LED lights and light-responsive sensors, were placed the lengths of the lampshades to detect changing light levels to activate the LEDS and illuminate the lamps upon dusk and overcast days.

Each lamp glows and pulses its own respective color and despite the outrage of a $100,000 budget, when the council at the time was over budget by approx. 3.5 million,  Down Lounge has become a well known icon in Leederville's town square
