The sculpture is a metaphor for Marcellin Champagnat and his ambition to help destitute children. Marcellin Champagnat opened Catholic colleges to educate underprivileged youth with agriculture and farming techniques

The sculptures titled 'Apple And The Needle'' and is representative of a needle passing through an apple. An apple being the world and the needle in this case being the word of GOD. 

The sculpture is placed in Marcellin Park named after the school's benefactor and amusingly resides in the center
