Sydney Olympic Park - Michael Scott-Mitchell

I've seen photo's of this sculpture before and my photo's really pale in comparison. I love the top photo but for all the wrong reasons. It was a huge structure and the best angle produced a great deal of sun glare so I didn't have much luck with getting a nice angle other than with a heavy edit.

The sculptures called 'The Olympic Cauldron' I'm still confused as to whether this was the 2000 Olympic cauldron that's been repurposed into art or a replica / tribute. It's late and I'll look into it further when I make a third trip into Sydney Olympic Park to discover the other 80 odd artworks littering the suburb.

The Olympic Cauldron graces the Northern end of Cathy Freeman Park along with an array of other sculptures.
