I still struggle taking photo of statues on hot sunny days. I'd photographed this sculpture on a previous excursion from across the street and never posted as it screams lack of effort.
At the time I didn't know the artist but am now happy with a semi decent photograph and a little bit of brain food.
The sculpture depicts Sir Joseph Banks and was created in 1997. It adorns a corner connecting Chapel Rd and The Mall.
Be sure to have a decent wander around the park as the surrounds play host to a mural by Styna Byna and sculptures by Alan Ingham & Larissa Smagarinsky respectively.
