Margel Hinder
I was surprised to learn I've come across this artist before in Canberra's Woden Shopping Centre AND in Newcastle. This artwork doesnt have a name but at the time of it's install it created waves as the sculpture confused people and they wernt quite sure what to make of it.
This is one of two sculptures by Margel in Sydney, the first being found at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. This untitled work was installed in 1964 after winning a competition back in 1961.
The sculptures located up the flight of stairs in Martin Place just off Phillip Street.
