Macquarie Fields Public Art | Mosaic Wall

Unknown Artist

I happend upon this mosaic wall driving up Rosewood Drive to my next destination. There was no name but it had a date stamp of 1996. A small plaque descries the mural as a reflection of Macquarie Fields at the time.

The community wanted to honor the inhabitants of Australia so they were symbolized as tree's with deep roots to the earth. Through out the mural we see an array of faces, flora and fauna. It was the only decorated wall I saw in the area and suspect it's an entry statement to a government housing precinct.
