Kronosaurus
I feel like this blog is slowly becoming a giant Mural database. I'm glad when I finally get to visit a 'BIG Thing' even if it's not to scale or even life sized. Roadside attractions really do seem dwarfed in numbers these days compared to the amount of councils opting for a mural over sculptures in the last decade.
This sculpture is a tribute to the skeletal remains found North of Richmond in 1926. The sculptures plaque states the remains were shipped to America which took 25 years to assemble. The average Kronosaurus was estimated to be around 9 meters in length so this fiber glass sensation is perhaps a bit bigger or about what you'd expect from a regular sized dino
A rare photo of my then infant sitting in the jaws of the amazing Kronosaurus!
Oh no! Mally!!!
The Kronosaurus can be found on the Kronosaurus corner on Goldring and Larsen Streets
