My Teenage years were spent in Altona meadows, Werribee and Hoppers Crossing
This corner use to be mostly dirt and full of rubbish so seeing the council spruce it up is really lovely despite the local newspaper not agreeing with me
The sculpture is called 'Grow' it's an 8 meter tall corten steel flower installed in 2011.
If you're into art you'll recognize the artist name, Jonathon Leahey.
Leaheys more notable sculptures are the BIG Paper Planes in Perths CBD, WA as well as a large saw mill blade in Deniliquin, NSW
Grow was a $56,000 acquisition and was inspired by a hand drawn picture Leaheys 5 year old drew.
