I first encountered these strange looking dogs in Canberra and was excited to learn there was another installment in Goulburn. Like the Canberra version the sculpture is Titled 'Nil tenure' which made me google the title. It appears 'Nil tenure' describes the way wild dogs don't particularly adhere to the same boundaries as humans and is often used by land and wildlife management.

My partner goes hunting and the last time he was out encountered a wild dog. He said it was the size of a German shepherd and said he was lucky the dog ran off. Often these dogs roam in packs and will attack and stalk humans. Wild dogs and feral cats are big issue for farmers and our wildlife population.
