Red Dog Memorial

They say every dog has his day.. Not this one, this one was poisoned

Known as Red Dog or the Pilbara Wanderer this kelpie/ cattle dog has a rather rich history of travelling around Northern Western Australia.

Red Dog would accompany his second owner, a bus driver, on his routes from Dampier to Perth, Broome, Roebourne and became very familiar with each town and it's inhabitants

When his owner died, Red Dog continued his travelling, until Nov 21st 1979 where the Pilbara Wanderer succumbed to poisoning.
