The Zookeeper
Nestled on the grounds of the local Information Centre is this incredibly vibrant painted tank by The Zookeeper. It's really is an amazing spectacle that hurts the eyes a little but is so mind bogglingly beautiful. Painted all the way around with an additional painted garden shed this tank was possibly my favourite artwork in Cloncurry.
The artwork is a 2024 addition to Cloncurry's public Art portfolio and is a tribute to the 2019 floods that saw devastating floods decimate cattle populations. The tank also features the old railway ambulance that played a vital role in outback health and various other flood scenes.
