Perth CBD - Amanda Shelsher

‘Resonance’ by Amanda Shelsher | Perth Public Art Amanda Shelsher

I really enjoyed this particular sculpture.

I didn’t know they were swan feathers until the creation of my Instagram this post but these 1.9 meter bronze feathers were created by local Western Australian artist Amanda Shelsher.

Titled ‘Resonance’ Amanda felt the swan feathers would serve as a spiritual reminder to the areas past and what long ago transpired on that land.

Anecdotes and memories from the local Nyungar families are scribed along each feather.

The artist hoped the sculpture would act as a reflection for the memories of past generations and a reminder of the wildlife that once occupied the area that no longer exists today.

Apparently the area use to be really over whelmed with black swans in the 1600’s
